A Soldiers Story

A soldiers' story, left and forgotten.
Once the hills were climbed, the jungles burned and the tunnels crawled.
Now there’s a piece of me here another there and still even more others everywhere.
Tripped a damn mine, blew me to bits. Wholest part left is half my spine.
I hope my wife will be fine. My son and daughter will inspire me, even thru any fire.
My body will never be found. Hey vulture leave my brains alone.
Where lies my heart ? Ah who cares ?
My soul has escaped like a double agent spy.
And unto Him I wait to arrive.

With deepest respect to all who served for the savior of democracy !
