"A Walk On The Beach"

I took a walk on the beach one starry summer night.

The waves crashed their thunderous majesty.

The sand slid away amongst the phosphorus foam.

The seaweed, sea shells, drift wood, and trash floated harmlessly.

The crab chasers ran and played like feathered grey hounds.

The sea gulls floated and sank with the gusts aiding their flight.

The pelicans glided thru the sky and dove deep for their prey.

But still something was missing, the picture not complete.

Or was it more than something, perhaps it was something(s).

Yes, it was more than something that was missing, gone forever more.

So there I stood, the waves touching my toes as if sent to do so.

All the while no shadow did I cast, for at peace and whole I was.

Then as if an after thought a sign appeared…a lone osprey did call.

And now in sight, my old friend the fine feathered arrow,

Dancing with the wind and striking a lethal clawed bend.

But still missing the water was not complete as I looked hard in dim light.

And there, finally I saw the picture complete. First the dolphin and tarpon,

Then the spout and splash of that monster known only to the deep.

He rose and turned making a thunderous sound, breaking the barriers of the waves.

The water spread in all directions…my heart skipped a beat as I saw this sight.

Now the grey one came to visit with his voice as loud as the constants.

And to me only he spoke, and this he had to say…..

“Go in Peace and Go in Glory….for yours is a legacy in the making.”

As I bowed my head and thanked the all knowing wise one,

I realized with hope and honor I was brought to this place.

This time in the present, shaped by the past and knowing the future.

To do and say what must be done and what must be said.

And let the chips fall where they may, for my lot is already cast.

And as I turn to walk the beach, the moon does come and a shadow is cast.

A shadow that has been with me since the beginning of my time.

And will be with me thru the ages and the end times.

My soul guides my sprit, my sprit leads my heart and my heart consoles my brain.

In this way I travel to the next curve, the next wave, the next night, the next beach.

And hopefully the scene will be complete, or backwards I’ll go, but not wanted.

For I have been there and done that and although special a new bridge awaits,

And like all the others I will cross it, if I have to climb it or swim it,

I will make it to the other side, or die trying which is also not wanted.

But in life all is not fair, but only because the devil makes it so.

Look for your scene, look for your beach, look for your whale,

And in it I hope you find a piece of Heaven, for it is all there.

It is not what it is or what it was but what it will be, depending on you.

Do not let outside forces distract you from your vision of this life.

Do not let what you watch and hear always effect what you feel.

First impressions are often right, like that tug at your gut.

So listen and watch and what you touch and smell will effect what you feel.

And may that feeling be one of Grace and Hope for in these things…you’ll find Heaven.

Blessed Days and Peaceful Nights Dreams.
