If Given the Choice

If given the choice…have your heart replaced and live for many years to come, or keep what you have and perish within weeks, what would you choose?  Forget about any perceptions of right and wrong, of medical integrity or other concerns.  You simply have a choice…live or die.

Some may say they’d rather die.  I wonder why this is.  Is their life so bad they reach for something better?  That in death they perceive some salvation from the pains they have in this world.  Who’s to say death and the life after is any better for you.  For many it will be no salvation, just another failed attempt at grasping for peace.

For others the chance to rid themselves of a tired, aged and diseased heart for a new one clean and healthy is as they say…”a no brainer”.  So isn’t that the choice we have with being a believer or non-believer in this world today?

Non-believers out there…what do you have to lose…your pride, your science, your limited logic, your hate?  Is accepting Christ as your Savior, as this world’s Savior, any different than receiving that new heart?  Of course it is much more than that. The decisions you make in your mind regarding your heart pale in comparison to the actions your spirit makes on behalf of your soul.  Do not let the confusion in your mind fail your heart and do let the evils of your spirit condemn your soul.

As humans we are cursed, cursed for the failures of our past.  But those are memories and the future holds promise; for even though we are cursed, we are not forsaken.  The words of David in Psalms 36 & 37 speak clearly, as in 37: 10-11… “A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.  But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.”
What does this say to us regarding our world today?  When I read the rest of Psalm 36 & 37 and many other passages throughout God’s Word, I have thoughts a bit different than common beliefs.

My spirituality is grounded in the faith and belief in God and His Son Jesus Christ who was delivered for us to defeat death and in so doing released us from the curse of our failures and the chains of sin.
Having made that choice in my own life however, does not preclude me from exploring and developing my own thoughts and beliefs on my personal relationship with God and how I relate the events of our world to lessons in the scripture.  The Bible is full of warnings and lessons, but it is also past history and future prophecy.  Separating the two can be very difficult, impossible without a pure and changed heart.

Thought for the day…what if the rapture (which by the way is a man made term, it appears no where in the Bible) isn’t God’s chosen being lifted to the Heavens…but rather the evil doers of this world just simply disappearing?  Do not confuse the rapture of the dead with the rapture of the living.  Those buried with salvation will surely rise; those living with the disease of wickedness will perish.  And what will be left, Heaven on Earth?  Think about it…if all the evil was gone, how wonderful our planet would be. For many this Earth is already better than what they could ever imagine.  Peace on Earth is possible just as replacing your heart with a better one can be.

This is my hope for this planet and for my fellow man.  That we overcome the deceptions and distractions around us and realize what we have in front of us and all around us is good and that all the bad goes away so we can enjoy life to its fullest, no matter our individual lot in life.

Think outside your box and the one in front of you…make your own decisions.  They could be a matter of redemption or condemnation and time is short.  For one day evil will “vanish like smoke” and when that day comes those who have faith will see a new creation of Heaven on this Earth.

If given the choice…what do you have to lose?
Nothing…but eternity in Heaven or hell…life or death,   it’s your choice.
