Today I woke up and needed some encouragement. It is hard to stay completely positive when the pressures of the day weigh you down. One thing I’ve learned over time is that even though I enjoy my solitude with nature and the Word…you need to get out there and be with people who can lift your spirit to where it needs to be.
This morning my spirit was lifted when I logged on and seen where I had over 150 views to the blog in the last 24 hours, which put me well over my goal of 10,000. Thank you so much for taking your valuable time to read parts of this blog…and true to my word I have a consult later today with a publisher.
I am not sure if my writing is worthy…but there’s only one way to find out. This blog is a personal diary of sorts and I hope you have found something here that inspires you. The writings are all original, one of a kind and copyrighted. They are only copyrighted for the legal reasons of profiting off another person's work...I have no problem with parts of this blog being shared openly.
I started this blog as a means to communicate with distant friends and to express thoughts that I felt should not be held selfishly, but shared with my fellow man and glorify the essence of our Creator.
As a means to celebrate I want to re-post my very first post on the blog. From April of 2008, it is called “The Ring” and the pictures attached are from my high school days…when I first realized I could draw…just takes me a long, long time. I spent days drawing these…and I am so glad to say that thru all my trials, tribulations and accomplishments in the past 40 years they have survived and are still in my possession.
If you have any such items…treasure them…for they are the heartbeat of your soul.
“THE RING”
Sometimes in life the things you make with your own hand and mind are worth more than anything else you may have. They are original, one of a kind, irreplaceable and special in time.
Cherish these creations whatever they are. And remember that if you receive a one of a kind gift by a dear friend or loved one you should treat it with respect as if it were your own creation. To have a creation that is numbered One of One should never perish but remembered always by its creator.
When I was in high school I made three such items. One was a ring of silver and turquoise. It was oval with an inner oval inlay and a crucifix in the center.
The other two were pencil drawings. One was of Molly Hatchet's first album cover and the other was Stairway to Heaven. It is the inside cover of Led Zeppelin's 4th album...it took me hours to draw the keeper's hand holding the lantern of truth...had to put tape on the back of the paper because I erased it so many times before I finally was satisfied with it. I guess I have a hard time drawing hands because that was the hardest part of the Molly Hatchet drawing...the hand holding the battle ax.
The ring was stolen from me several years later. But the design and its image I will always remember and maybe someday I will be able to recreate it.
However, I still have the Stairway to Heaven and Molly Hatchet drawings framed and in my house.
Do you have something made by your hand? Put it in a special place and thank the Lord for any and all your gifts, talents, blessings and good fortune. They are meant to be shared with others in the glory of the Creator.
May you have peace and understanding all thru your days.
