9 year old baseball player

This young gentleman is very gifted. If in fact he is playing at a 13 year old level and it is safe for him to play in the upper league than by all means his parents and coach should encourage his advancement. To do otherwise at the risk of his peers is unthinkable and a disgrace to the spirit of sport.

Several reasons for this:
1) My own sons’ goalie on his high school lacrosse team was out and almost died after a freak shot to the chest area. Had it not been for immediate response he would have passed.
2) In the same week a female college soft ball pitcher in Tampa was hit in the chest and again almost lost her precious life.
3) In this boys particular case his parents and coach will actually be doing a disservice to this young man by not allowing to advance at a higher level. How do you think 16 year olds get million dollar soccer deals!!!
4) If (God forbid) someone should get hit by one of his pitches (in the chest area or head) and a tragedy occurs these parents and coach could very well be liable for huge damages by not heeding the call of other coaches, parents and players !
5) And last (but certainly not least) for these moronic parents to threaten a law suit over this is just another example of parents and coaches playing thru the lives of their kids. What glory is there in seeing your son strike out every nine year old ! Wouldn’t it be so much better to have several strike outs against 13 year olds ?

The feelings a young individual garnishes at the sake of his older competitors is only surpassed by older competitors schooling their young apprentices, as we seen in the Olympics this year.

Thank you, thank you to the wonderful talents who produced the Olympics. I was inspired and awestruck at the opening ceremony. I was fortunate to be able to watch a lot of the coverage.

My biggest disappointment: The judging on the ladies individual vault (or lack there of).
My biggest inspiration : The handicapped swimmer competing with whole bodied athletes.
Biggest choke job: United States men's track relay teams dropping the batons in both races.
Happiest to see win a gold: United States cutie on the balance beam. You go sweetie.

But what I will remember most from these games is the spirit, organization, landscape, architecture and history displayed by the Chinese people and their mystically wonderful country. I learned so much in such a short period of time and with the back drop of world wide sporting competition, nothing compared or perhaps ever will. Thank you China, the United States should be happy to have your people and your country as an ally in the pursuit of happiness and good will towards our environment, our wildlife and our fellow men and women who inhabit this wonderful planet we call Earth.

P.S. I'd like to see this 9 year old boy compete in the Olympics in eight years (playing baeball of course). Question of the day: Why isn't golf and lacrosse Olympic sports ?

Have a blessed and prosperous day.
