Living on the Edge

There are times in your life when all may not seem right
And other times when everything is magical in your sight

Living on the Edge is something we all should try
Some have and live to tell, for others are left to cry

I have been there myself and feel lucky to say
It is a feeling you have, for others you pray

Ever been in a space of time where you felt fearless
Even though others around you, thought you hopeless?

Ever reached out to touch the hand of God?
Well, I did and I realized an arm was attached.

Living on the edge comes naturally to some
For others like me it comes in fleeting spans of time

When there, you are insightful, creative, strong, and in total touch with your surroundings
People may whisper about you in a room and you hear it like a drum

At times I dress in the most elaborate but simple ways
A Callaway Hawkeye hat, a German cross bandana sticking out my belt like a badge
Blue jeans, hiking boots, black t-shirt, leather braided belt
Rings on my fingers, bracelets on my wrists, and chains on my neck
Not gaudy or anything just there to look at
Some thought I was a Rock Star, some an undercover detective, others a gang member
But none of these were correct….
I was just there enjoying the scenery and listening for whispers.

When you live on the edge you do some wild things. Some are spiritual,
some are frightful, some are daring, others caring.
Some people get angry and harmful
That isn’t me… I am usually happy and helpful.
