A couple of things that upset me

1) Deceiving and hurting children. Children are the keep sake of our Lord. In their innocence they are pure of heart. Today we have many examples of crimes against children which are horrible in nature and committed by twisted, confused, and demon possessed individuals. But what is just as bad are the factions and groups that raise their kids from birth to believe and follow their twisted agendas. The radical Islamic factions teach their kids from the time they are born that America is the devil and the non-Islamic people of the world are demons and should be eliminated is the most obvious example. But, we also have in our own country this group who claims to be religious in nature but the elders take their pick of the young girls (some under 12 years old) and force them into sex. I know of nothing in the Bible or the Book of Mormon that justifies this. These actions will be dealt with most harshly by our Lord. To commit a crime against a child, or raise them to hate or be a slave to some twisted ideals is a very serious issue. Until we break this chain of ignorance many of our children will suffer at the hands of the wicked.

2) Photos and your image. We have laws protecting our creations; be they writings, art or music your creations can be protected from unauthorized copying and profiting by others. However, there are no laws protecting your image. In my opinion your face and body is also a creation. Your image from birth should be protected by default. It is disgusting to me to see whole businesses set up to get pictures of the rich and famous and post them on the internet or splash them in some magazine. These celebrities did not give their permission to take these pictures and even worse the people taking them are getting rich at the expense of the celebrity. The celebrity gets nothing out of this but an often unflattering picture of themselves for the world to see. Your image should be inherently copyrighted from birth. I would like to see legislation on this put into effect. The people profiting from this should be put out of business. Legitimate means to get pictures authorized by the celebrities can be done so the public at large can admire their favorite celebs. Look at it this way…would you like a picture of yourself picking your nose splashed all over the internet and trash mags? I didn’t think so.

I have thoughts on many other subjects but these are two that continue to upset me every day. The Lord and the laws of the land will hopefully track down the wicked folks who prey and deceive on the young. But the copyright rules regarding your image is something we as the people of this country need to act upon. Many of these celebrities are afraid to even leave their houses. They have to put up dark drapes and blinds to keep the photogs from invading their privacy. This needs to stop and it is in our hands to do so.
