Depression sets in from somewhere near
It lives in all of us, but for some it is true fear
Loneliness and despair are hard to overcome
Death and ruin robs the brightest of some
What is this pain that won’t go away?
What are these tears on my cheek that stay
No medication can cure it alone
You must reach beyond all the way to the bone
Get up and take control, life is to short
To spend it in a funk of sort
You must grab onto things that make you happy
Then you’ll find life’s outlook not so sadly
Difficult it is I know all to well
But have faith it will work better than any pill.
