The Greatest Inventionn

You, yes I said you are the greatest invention this world has ever seen. For without you no other inventions could there be. Hard to argue this point unless you rephrase it to “The Greatest Invention Created By Man.” Sheds a new light on the title don’t you think?

In my opinion the greatest invention by man is the conception, development and utilization of video media in our world today. I say this because of the fact that by the use of video in multiple formats (T.V., computers, the movies and still pictures) we can reach from all points of the planet to educate ourselves and add to our memory base. The more knowledge we have of our world the more informed we will be when considering an issue of worldly concern. By the use of video to add to our memories we can travel the world and never leave home. We can be at sporting events, concerts, plays, war zones, hospitals, slums and country clubs. The internet has added to the basic use of video in T.V., movie and picture format for a truly global concept of delivery. To be able to save and replay images from all points of the earth from all times of day and night for use and reference when we feel the need to consider a particular issue is an uncalculated power that has us all more informed of the world around us. By the use of video we are exposed to all the other “inventions” out there we would never even know existed.

I also say video is the greatest invention because it captures what……images. Images we relate to in our own fashion and remember in our own chosen way. If you are the greatest invention and God created you first in His image than it stands to reason that God realized the importance of “image” and created the greatest invention He possibly could ...you... in His image.

Once created it is up to us to add and enhance the images around us and by the educated use of video media we can enhance our lives and our world. We see things we would never see. We hear things we would never hear. Use your T.V. and computer for positive enrichment of yourself and family. Take in a good movie once in a while. Absorb yourself into the moment and put your self in that spot of time. If you concentrate you may approach those senses video and audio can not…touch and smell.

And how could that be? Well, if you are watching a program about life in a forest you have never been to, you may relate the images and audio clips to previous memories of experiences you had in a forest of similar nature. By concentration you can add to the video and audio experience by adding in your memories of touch and smell you have experienced. Try it sometime when you are most comfortable and can concentrate on it.

God created us in His image. It is our charge to maintain that image in thought, action and recreation of the image we have been so blessed with.
