Night Wings

I hear the day birds calling
Sweet songs on my ears falling

The night time belongs to the silent bat
With wings of leather they combat

Chasing specs we can not see
Hordes of insects, they try to flee

But the bat has superb natural might
In flight, sound is its sight

The locust flies but has no escape
From the bat who of the air does rape

Sitting amongst ancient tress
You have to look hard to see

They are there, the nights little winged friends
Whose wings in the still night air blends

Now is the sun rise and the feathered ones sing
All to His glory for a new day they hope to bring
