Stampede of Love---Revise & Repost

I know I said I wasnt going to post anything on the blog til December.....but I have to share some good news from the last couple of days.

Blogs are a way for people to share their thoughts, stories, skills and life with a wider audience.  For me it started in 2008 as a means to communicate with distant friends who at one time shared in a writing forum.  As time went on and we found ourselves separated by miles...we didn't want to be separated in our thoughts and experiences.  I stumbled across blogspot.com doing some research on the issue before the popularity of Facebook and before Twitter and other forums were even created.

It has been a wonderful tool to accomplish its original intent and has several other advantages learned over time...like having your writings saved in the electronic server world...before the Cloud was a thing.  Since 2008 when I launched this blog I have lost the Word files on two computer drives...been thru at least three phones that have lost or unaccessible memory... and lost a couple pages of written material....but the blog remains....and I am so thankful for it!!!!

As stated the blog is a means of communication.  In that vein I am going to communicate with a friend I met last night...Tim the bass player for the band playing at Twin Oaks Lounge where I  DJ on Wednesday nights...among other things.  Anyway I told him I had written a couple songs, which I have actually written dozens, but only a few have been put to music at some point.
This is one of them....and some of my best work...delivered to me for free by the Grace of God...so it is here free for you to hopefully enjoy... and find meaning to as well.

I will post a fresh writing to the blog this weekend...as I have a promise to keep to a friend who had a question about an earlier blog post...but in the meantime here is a repost of the song "Stampede of Love" I told Tim about after he was kind enough to let me play harmonica to a George Thurgood song they did last night...

To music "Stampede of Love" has an Allman Brothers, Molly Hatchett, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Outlaws, Tom Petty and Stevie Ray feel to it....take your pick...can't go wrong...
It has been set to music and chords and I plan to get together with Tim (and others) to tweak it.  There is something very unique about this final version...see if you can pick it out...

Take Care & Also Easy.

O yeah I forgot to mention 38 Special, Blackfoot, Marshall Tucker, Ozark Mountain Daredevils and the Eagles …that’s a heck of a line up right there now…I don’t care who you are!!!!

As you read thru Stampede, think of what you know about the Book of Revelations and if you don’t know much about it or have never been exposed to a glimpse of the past, present and future of man-kind…do yourself and those around you a huge favor and take a few minutes this weekend to just read Chapter One as John delivers words from Jesus and the angels.

"STAMPEDE OF LOVE"
Dedicated to a power higher than we as mortals can provide…. alone.

A storm is brewing, a battle cries
Good versus evil, Truth versus lies
Two armies, one Holy 12 of 12
The other beastly 6 of 6 times 6.
Which side you decide, the hour is near
And the outcome some will surely fear.
If you choose unwise, you will be trampled
(chorus)
Trampled til you die, yea that’s trampled
Trampled by the power of its’ battle cry
Yea, trampled underfoot by a stampede of love.
That’s trampled, by the power of a dove.
Trampled under foot by a stampede…..of love.

Reflect the past, cherish memory
Remember your heart, your history
Pain and punishment deliver pride
Simple promise holds the most purpose
And all things will be as they should be
Great mystery revealed to see
If you are blinded you will be trampled
(chorus)
Trampled til you die, yea that’s trampled
Trampled by the power of its’ battle cry
Yea, trampled underfoot by a stampede of love.
That’s trampled, by the power of a dove.
Trampled under foot by a stampede…..of love.

Death does come, life goes on, wars will rage
But love will conquer in any new age
Vanquishing those who spit in its’ face
Forever putting hate in its’ place
For in battle the loudest cry wins
And loves cry rides on the surf and wind
If you don’t hear it you will be trampled
(chorus)
Trampled til you die, yea that’s trampled
Trampled by the power of its’ battle cry
Yea, trampled underfoot by a stampede of love.
That’s trampled, by the power of a dove.
Trampled under foot by a stampede…..of love.

So off we go now, unknown spirits
To do loves will, and bring it all down
Like scattered dust to the heavens
The oceans brought us here again
Hearing loves battle cry loud and long
It will drown out any other song
If you don’t sing it you will be trampled
(chorus)
Trampled til you die, yea that’s trampled
Trampled by the power of its’ battle cry
Yea, trampled underfoot by a stampede of love.
That’s trampled, by the power of a dove.
Trampled under foot by a stampede…..of love.

A Sliver of Light

This early morning, I look and see a fading sliver of light, shrouded by clouds from nowhere near. Then the night light becomes clearer, a...
